This was a fascinating and enlightening listen. It really resonated with me as I think of the many women I know who have missed that fertility window. Some pursuing careers, some never finding the “right person”, and even some being too embarrassed to get in-vitro and have a baby on their own. Many said that route would be too difficult on their own. So many other paths that could be discussed on this subject, you could have a whole series just on this topic. My hunch is there's a good chunk of the "child free" community that's actually really sad about kids not working out for them - it's easier to convince yourself that you never wanted babies rather than admit that it didn't work out. I have a friend who resigned herself to no kids at 40, but then she met the right guy and has since become really open about her desire to have a baby. I'm praying she is able to do so!
